Wine on the Waterfront: Tawas Uncork’d and the Fine Art Festival

The Tawas Uncork’d festival celebrates the local area vintners, restaurants, and breweries that provide us with our favorite beverages. Enjoy mellow music as well as wine, ales, and food at Harbor Park in East Tawas. The Tawas Uncork’d Festival will be held on Saturday, August 5^th this year.

Tawas hosts another premier annual event, the Tawas Bay Waterfront Fine Art Festival, on August 5^th and 6^th. Discover some of the region’s painters, potters, jewelers, authors, photographers, and more. You will also find food vendors, demonstrations, and live music in the gazebo as well as sand castle building contests. Find artisanal gifts for those back home or purchase a memento to always remember your stay at the Huron House.  Not only are you taking home something from our area, you’re supporting the local artists that make events like these possible.            

You’ll find Tawas about 20 minutes south of Oscoda. Its small-town charm, sandy beaches, and peninsular lighthouse give it a postcard-worthy setting, especially as you stroll along the Lake Huron beachfront footpath.
