On your way to Reid Lake, you also have the opportunity to visit the Lumberman's Monument, a 14-foot bronze trio dedicated to the hard workers of Michigan's legendary logging industry. Built in 1931 by Robert Aitken, who sculpted the west pediment of the Supreme Court Building, the monument symbolizes Michigan's role in the 19th century when the states lumber was used to construct many of the homes of the Midwest.
