Antiquing in Oscoda and Tawas
At the Huron House, we pride ourselves in taking the time to cater to each of our guests, tailoring your visit to fit your individual needs and expectations. In between winter’s exhilarating outdoor adventures, you may want to slow down and check out some unique antique shops in Oscoda and nearby Tawas City. Note that some of these shops don’t have websites, but you can find them on Facebook.
Just south of the bridge in Oscoda, Hobart’s Furniture & Antiques, offers elegant old-world antiques alongside a full line of new accents and furnishings that reflect the comfort of country-style living. A woodworking craftsman is onsite to personally design, customize and handcraft any piece of furniture to your specifications and taste. In Tawas City, there are several shops to choose from. Alabaster Corner is a unique collection of shops, a Victorian Tea Room and Café in a rustic, country setting. Multiple vendors offer antiques and vintage home décor and furniture, custom hand-made leather and embroidery items, hand-made natural stone jewelry and Michigan-made products. Time After Time Antiques and Appraisals carries a wide variety of antiques and collectibles including glassware, furniture, jewelry, clocks, miniatures, military memorabilia and toys. They also offer a range of appraisal services. An antique, vintage and consignment shop, Fabulous Finds provides “fairly old to nearly new merchandise”.
And when you return, you can relax with a glass of wine in your outdoor hot tub or in-room Jacuzzi at the Huron House and admire your one-of-a-kind treasure.
Our admiration of the antique is not admiration of the old, but of the natural. ― Ralph Waldo Emerson
