Huron House Elopement, Intimate Wedding & Event Policy
At Huron House, we are honored to be part of life’s most meaningful milestones. Hosting an elopement or intimate wedding on our property is a privilege we take seriously. To preserve the exclusivity, serenity, and guest experience that define Huron House, we have established the following policies regarding elopements, ceremonies, and events, including professional photography.
Elopements & Intimate Weddings Are a Paid Service
All ceremonies hosted on Huron House property—regardless of guest count, formality, or duration—are considered official elopements or intimate weddings and must be booked through one of our elopement packages.

Simply put: if you are getting married on our property, it must be done through us.
No matter how small or informal your plans may seem, the use of our private property for a ceremony of any kind without prior written approval is not permitted.
Lodging Does Not Include Event Rights
Booking a guest room at Huron House provides access to enjoy our amenities, such as the beach, garden, and common areas, for rest and relaxation only.
Room reservations do not include the right to:
- Host a ceremony (formal or informal)
- Conduct professional photography sessions (e.g., engagement, wedding prep, styled shoots)
- Use the property as a gathering space for off-site weddings or group events
Any use of the property outside of personal lodging requires prior written approval, a signed contract, and an event-specific deposit.
Contract, Deposit & Written Approval Are Required
No elopement, ceremony, professional photography session, or event may take place on Huron House grounds without the following:
- A signed event or elopement contract
- A dedicated deposit specific to the event (room deposits do not apply)
- Written confirmation from Huron House management approving your use of the space
Failure to follow this process constitutes unauthorized use of private property.
Exclusive Use: One Elopement Per Stay
To preserve the intimacy of the experience, Huron House hosts only one elopement or intimate wedding at a time. Once a ceremony is booked, we turn away all additional elopement inquiries for those dates.
This policy ensures that each couple receives our full attention and that their day is never overshadowed or disrupted by overlapping events. If a guest attempts to host a ceremony without approval during another couple’s reserved event window, it is a direct violation of our policies and a disservice to the paying couple.
Guest Count Limit: 6 People Maximum
Our property is designed for privacy, serenity, and connection. To respect the experience of all guests and preserve the nature of our intimate environment, we do not host events exceeding 6 people total (including the couple).
This applies to all elopements, ceremonies, and photography sessions. We are not able to accommodate larger weddings, group events, or gatherings of any kind.
Approved Vendors Only
We partner exclusively with a select group of local professionals for officiating, photography, and florals. These trusted vendors understand our property and standards, and help ensure a seamless, high-quality experience.
Outside vendors are not permitted. Unauthorized use of external vendors—especially for photography or ceremonies—and tagging our location or brand in associated media is a misrepresentation of our work and will not be tolerated.
Property Use Limitations for Offsite Weddings
Guests may not use Huron House as a:
- Getting-ready or bridal suite location for an off-site wedding
- Transportation/shuttle hub for guests or bridal parties
- Post-wedding gathering or after-party location
Use of the property for these purposes, without prior approval, is considered an event and must follow our standard booking process with associated contracts and fees.
Unauthorized Use Will Result in Penalties
Any unauthorized use of Huron House for a ceremony, photography session, or event, regardless of size, violates our Terms of Service and will result in:
- Additional fees
- Immediate cancellation of your reservation
- Permanent refusal of future bookings
We will enforce these policies without exception to protect the integrity of our guest experience and the couples who have reserved our space through the proper channels.
