Trout Fishing in the Ausable River

The AuSable River enters Lake Huron at Oscoda and is considered one of the best brown trout fisheries east of the Rockies. It also has been designated a blue ribbon trout stream.  The main branch of the AuSable flows through or adjacent to the Huron-Manistee National Forest and a portion of the river has been designated a National Wild and Scenic River. Watch for bald eagles and the endangered Kirtland’s warbler. The pristine waters of Lake Huron are sure to provide the excitement of world class fresh water fishing for Steelhead, Yellow Perch, Walleye, Chinook (King), Atlantic Salmon and many other freshwater species.
