Take a Day Trip Harrisville

With only one traffic light and more forest than just about anything else, Harrisville is a secluded Michigan city nestled along the outer edges of the Huron-Manistee National Forest. Two state parks and a refuge harbor for the Coast Guard, as well as its Great Lake shores, make this city your iconic All-American “old-fashioned lake vacation” spot.  Start your journey north from the Huron House at dawn if you’re in the mood to catch a breathtaking sunrise over Lake Huron on your way into the town of Harrisville. The coast itself is nicknamed the Sunrise Coast for its panoramic horizon across Lake Huron to the east. Spend the morning hiking or cross-country skiing along one of the many trails within the forest.
