The perfect event for our guests who are wine and beer enthusiasts is the annual Sunrise Side Wine, Brew & Food Festival, held the third Saturday in July in Harrisville. Located about 17 miles north of Oscoda, the festival features fine wines from Michigan wineries, locally crafted beer, delectable foods from area restaurants, live music, and an art show. This year’s festival is July 17, 2021, from noon to 6 p.m. under the Big Tent at the Harrisville Harbor.

Spend winters in the Bahamas and summers in Michigan along the shores of Lake Huron. Sounds perfect, right? That's the migratory path of the Kirtland's Warbler, an endangered species of songbird that was nearly extinct just 50 years ago. Bird aficionados know that Iosco County, home to Huron House, is also home to the largest concentration of these rare ground nesters. Nature enthusiasts flock to this area in mid-May for warbler migration to observe this vulnerable species.
We can't wait to host you here at Huron House on your next getaway to the Sunrise Side of Michigan. Oscoda has so much to offer visitors: scenic lake views; sandy beaches; crystal clear waters for swimming, boating and fishing; miles of trails for outdoor adventures; and more! But if you want to see more of the beauty of Michigan's east coast, then travel along the Lake Huron shoreline just 15 miles north of Huron House and you'll reach Harrisville, Michigan.

So you're getting married... congratulations! As you think about how you'll start your life together, maybe a big, traditional ceremony doesn't reflect your wedding day vision. Or maybe the current restrictions on social gatherings have you considering a more private, meaningful wedding celebration. Either way, Huron House can help you plan the perfect Northern Michigan elopement that allows you to focus on each other with no stress and no distractions.
Imagine rockets launching toward the heavens over Lake Huron. It's not science fiction, now that the Oscoda-Wurtsmith Airport has been selected by the Michigan Launch Initiative as a horizontal rocket launch site.
