Huron House Policies

Taxes: Michigan State sales tax equal 6% and applies to all guest stays and merchandise.  In addition, a 2% county room tax applies to all stays.

Smoking: Per Michigan State Law, the Huron House provides a non-smoking environment for the comfort of our guests. Smoking is not permitted on the campus of the Huron House Smoking will result in a $250 cleaning charge. This includes the use of cigarettes, cigars, e-cigarettes and marijuana. 

Check in: 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. unless other arrangements are made.

Check out: 11 a.m.

Rates: Price is based on Double Occupancy. Maximum occupancy is 2 people per room. Rates are subject to change without notice.  A two-night minimum stay is required on weekends and select holidays.

Deposit: A deposit of one night stay is required to hold your reservation.  In exchange, we remove your unique room from all marketing and from our availability calendar.

Pets: For the safety of all our guests, pets are not permitted.  There will be a $250 cleaning fee applied for guests bringing pets.  Please contact us in advance and we will be happy to provide you with kennel options for your traveling pets.

Children: Regrettably, our facility is not equipped to accommodate children.

CANCELLATIONS

When a guest makes a reservation for a stay at Huron House Bed & Breakfast, we agree to turn away all other requests for the unit you select and you agree to pay the rate quoted for the number of days you reserve. Because of our size, location and demand for our luxury rooms, cancellations affect us significantly. Therefore, we adhere to a strict cancellation policy.

All refunds will be issued in the form of a Huron House Gift Certificate

We require 10 days’ notice prior to arrival for a refund of the deposit less a $25 cancellation fee.  Within 10 days a refund of 50% of the deposit will be received. Any cancellation within 72 hours of the arrival date will result in the guest being held financially responsible for the entire stay.  Day of arrival cancellations, no shows and early departures are liable for the entire stay. Reservations made through a third party (example booking.com/Expedia) are NON-REFUNDABLE. 

Changing dates within 10 days of your reserved dates falls within our cancellation policy and will adhere to the same policy as stated above.  

We cannot be responsible for unused nights due to late or canceled airline flights, family emergencies, threat of bad weather and other travel-related mishaps or for changes in plans which shorten your stay. Vacation Insurance is available from several providers online to inexpensively protect you against unexpected events. 

Gift Certificates:  Huron House accepts gift certificates exclusively from the following entities:

  • Huron House Gift Certificates
  • The Hotel Saugatuck Gift Certificates
  • Michigan Lake to Lake Gift Certificates 
  • Select Registry Hotels

Additionally, we will accept gift cards issued by MasterCard, Visa, and Discover.
